What does "Indudala" mean?

Indudala is Sanskrit for "crescent". This is our nod to the Crescent City we live in and love.

Indudala Tribe is based in New Orleans, LA and performs American Tribal Style and Tribal Fusion Bellydance. We teach classes in Metairie, Baton Rouge and New Orleans and host out-of-town teachers for local Bellydance workshops. Indudala Tribe has performed at La Macarena Restaurant, 3rd Coast Tribal and Private Parties. Kate and Shannon have performed at Woldenberg Village, Acadiana Medieval Faire, The Art Bar in South Carolina, Artemis Mourat workshop in Lafayette and 3rd Coast Tribal in Ft. Worth. We feel that Tribal Style Bellydance presents the strength and grace of women!

We are also the local sponsors for a chapter of PURE Dance. PURE takes dance out into urban areas and neighborhoods to share the joy of dance and to uplift spirits. Our most recent PURE performance was a day spent in the 9th Ward sharing our dance with members of The Common Ground Collective and some of our military.
